Visiting the Smoot Family

Saturday evening after the Priesthood Session of General Conference my dad, sister Mika, Aunty Marge, my cousin Brett, and I went to eat at the Roof on the top of the Joseph Smith Building. The buffet was delicious!!! My dad, sister and I stayed the night at the Smoot's home. The next day Bro. and Sis. Smoot took us the the Sunday morning session of conference. We watched the Sunday afternoon session at the Smoot's home. My cousin Brett attending the afternoon session and picked up my uncle and aunty and drove over for dinner. It was such a fun experience. Bro. Smoot was one of the missionaries that baptized my grandparents and my Aunty Marge. We took this picture right before we had to leave. In the front from left to right we have my dad, me, Mika, and Brett. In the back we have Bro. and Sis. Smoot, Aunty Marge and Uncle Tony.

178th Annual General Conference

This past weekend was the 178th Annual General Conference. I was able to go to the Saturday Afternoon Session, Priesthood Session, and the Sunday Morning Session of Conference. I attended with my Dad who is on a 3 week business trip and scheduled the weekend to attend conference with me and my sister, Mika, who is graduating from Utah State this May. The weekend was a very spiritually uplifting weekend! A new Prophet was sustained in a solemn assembly Saturday morning. Something that caught my attention was the talks focused on family history work. It's so wonderful to be doing family history work and going to conference and hearing that we are suppose to be seeking out our ancestors and doing their work for them. You feel as if you got a pat on your back for doing what the Lord requires us to do.
